Trees and Shrubs

Woody Plants offer one of the most important ways to enhance the landscape. Trees and shrubs add volume and mass to the outdoor spaces we use, while contributing a spectacular array of forms, colors, and textures. For all the investments that are made in real estate, trees and shrubs appreciate in value at a greater rate than perhaps any other.

Windham Growers can help take some of the guess work out of choosing plant material. We can offer simple and experienced advice about what to plant, where to plant it and how much it will cost. We have access to the region's best suppliers and can deliver right to your property.

The qualities we look for in plant material form a broad list that includes some of the following: Edibles, fragrants, drought tolerant, wetland species, street trees, native species, exotics, seasonal interest, bloom time, wildlife attraction, and evergreen.

Screens

Privacy is one of the most popular reasons to invest in trees. A mixed, evergreen hedge can provide a visual screen, as well a soft, physical buffer. There are effective ways to minimize unwanted views and frame desireable aspects with a smart choice of tree.

Transplanting

Transplanting of trees is a very effective way to capitalize on your property. We move trees as large as twenty feet high and 6" in caliper, but we also transplant shrubs and perennials with relative ease. The important piece to proper transplanting is timing. There are limited windows in the spring and fall to move trees and shrubs. If you have ideas about the trees on your property give us a call for a free estimate and consultation.

Shade

The dappled shade of a Honeylocust on a bright July afternoon or a walk down a road lined with Sugar Maples is truly one of life's better treats. Shade in our gardens, our neighborhoods and our streets is an integral aspect of the natural environment. The importance is difficult to calculate, but easy to understand.
